My love affair with Ann Arbor began in 1974 when I came to visit my brother in grad school at the University of Michigan. He introduced me to Ann Arbor in our usual foodie-family way—through eating. The first places I visited with my brother then are still thriving in Ann Arbor—Pizza Bob’s and Crazy Jim’s Blimpy Burgers, along with over 300 places to eat in the Ann Arbor area.
I was (and still am) so smitten with Ann Arbor that I decided to attend college at the University of Michigan and have lived in the area since. I’ve always loved showing off the city to visitors and friends, particularly by walking and eating—and this town is great for both. And I’ve been lucky to have joined walking tours and and tastings around the world, including Bali, Italy, Argentina and China.
I lead groups of all sizes (including one) on tours exploring Ann Arbor’s history, architecture, shops and food.
I am an avid supporter of the Slow Food movement and highlight local farmers and businesses through my tours, tastings and writing.
I also plan events of all sizes and teach private cooking classes.
Looking forward to meeting you soon.
